On the Road with the MSIA Travel Staff and John Morton in South America — Days 6-8

Article image MSIA travel staff is currently in South America, providing MSIA Services (Innerphasings, Polarity Balances & Aura Balances) as well as MSIA events. Staff member, Angel Gibson, provides this update from the trip:

DAY 6 — BOGOTA

We’re full on into Services today. Seems pretty tame here at the hotel after yesterday’s spectacle of costume-clad hotel personnel popping up all around. John Morton arrives late this afternoon in time to join us for ordinations. We then go out to dinner at the nearby Amarti restaurant; we are joined by John Marin and his beautiful wife, Virginia, Alberto, Ilse and Ana Maria Arango, Pablo Lipinsky, Ana Maria Gonzalez and Felipe, Olga Elena Villegas and we staffers and John. We chat away in our mixtures of Spanish and English with lots of laughter going up and down the long table. We make it a short night as tomorrow begins a full to the brim weekend.

DAY 7 — BOGOTA

It’s Friday and my day begins with initiations with lots of the out-of-towner Colombians, most of which are from Cali. Vincent heads off to set up audio/video, and Lesley, Ani and Celia are doing Services. Our pace is fast today as we fly through Services and the initiations and have just enough time to wash faces, change clothes and catch rides over to the Park House hotel for tonight’s workshop, Exploring Spirit in Your Everyday Life.

The workshop room gets filled to the brim, with about 20-30% people who are new to MSIA. One thing I enjoy about our South American MSIA family — when one in the family gets interested in MSIA, then everyone in the family —o r at least a good part of the family — goes along to see what it is. We are maxed out in the room and still some people come. Team Captain for the weekend, Martha Cortes, and her assisting team, are doing a good job. John Marin translates tonight for John Morton. Olga Elena is the MC for all the weekend events. John and John make a good team on stage treating the participants to a deep and sweet taste of MSIA. At the end of the evening John Marin sweeps John Morton off for a little food, and we staff do some preparation for the weekend Invitation to the Christ workshop. Then it’s time for a little email and sleep.

DAY 8 — BOGOTA

Ooooh, this is an early day today. Celia and I are picked up by Alberta and Ilse at 7am so that we can be over at the Park House to prepare for the 8am initiations. We’ll be going straight through until after 10pm tonight. One of the many things that makes this hotel one to remember, has to do with the personnel. They really look after us and anticipate our needs. Almost before I’ve put my purse down, one of the young waiters asks if I’d like some coffee. Of course, I ask for an espresso….and wouldn’t you know…he went and got one for me…ah the simple blessings in life. I start the initiations and Celia meets with the assisting team…I like this doubling up. By the time I’ve finished with the initiations, the team has been prepped and is in action. Celia and I confer with our sound man, Vincent, and then John Morton when he arrives.

All is in readiness when Olga Elena takes the stage, welcoming the group and then shortly introduces the “John Duo” who open the workshop with some Traveler time. While John is talking to the group, I’m now re-configuring the scheduling of the day. This is always fun for me — this bit of juggling. As always, the perfection is amazing to see how adding in 1/2 hour of extra Traveler time fits perfectly. The Invitation to the Christ workshop is perhaps my favorite workshop to take and give. Spending the time going within and experiencing the presence of the Christ is indeed “priceless”. Wave after wave of delicious time in the Spirit is presented, unfolded, tendered, and nourished in us throughout the weekend. John comes back to visit us later this afternoon for a direct and heart-filling sharing that finishes our day. I so love seeing these people reach out to give and receive of their Traveler.

The first day of the workshop ends with a short break. We clean the room, dancing and singing as we go. Then a steady stream of Cali MSS2 participants start entering, and soon John and his Sancho pancho, John Marin, is back again. There are other MSS2 class grads who are in support of the Traveler being available to this class, even though they won’t be asking any questions. The Traveler takes his time as we see the love unfolding. By the end of the sharing Celia is toast and is very happily looking forward to her reflective dreams in the night travels. I take off with John, John and Virginia for a little dinner at a lively place called Cafe Renault with a pair of Renault cars hanging a bit off the ground at one end of the Cafe. On the way there we see many adults wearing Halloween costumes as they continue the adult version of the “Tricky, tricky Halloween, Quiero dulces para mi. Si no dulces para mi, Se te crece tu nariz.” (Tricky, tricky Halloween. I want sweets for me. If no sweets for me, your nose grows–or something close to that). Dinner is fun and quick. Time to head for home base. There are more initiations to do in the morning before Day 2 of the workshop starts, and packing to do as tomorrow we will leave for the airport and fly overnight to Santiago.

Thanks for the Light on our way; please keep it coming.
