John-Roger and Saints

From a young age, I wanted to be a saint, actually I wanted to be the third St. Theresa in the Catholic Church. I thought if I had enough rules to follow, I could do just that – be a saint. So at age 18, off to the convent I went. I followed the rules but I also asked a lot of questions, as I wanted to make sense of what we were asked to do and believe. After a few months I was invited to leave – my superiors decided that I did not have enough faith – true! My searching continued for the next 18 years, through all “new-age” type groups and churches, parapsychology, metaphysics, whatever I could find, but nothing satisfied.

There were friends in southern New Mexico who were involved with Insight, MSIA and John-Roger. I was impressed with the positive changes I saw in them but still I didn’t quite understand.

I remember clearly one day in 1978 or 1979 when Mary and I were doing dishes at her and Ron’s home in Tularosa, NM. I told Mary that I had heard about these discourses but it seemed like I had molasses in my ears, what people said didn’t make sense. Mary put down her dishtowel, we went into the living room, sat down and she explained. I GOT IT! After checking with my husband Guy, that night I ordered the discourses for both of us. In November of 1979, there was an Insight I training in southern New Mexico and we met John-Roger in person.

I was still in the “testing” and the asking questions stage when I heard John-Roger say something like a saint is one who has seen God and come back – something like that, NOT a direct J-R quote. I remember thinking, “Ah, I’m home.” This is what I’ve been seeking. Now when I have a question, the answer appears soon in a tape or seminar or the newspaper. I am living a blessed life.

I can easily say now that all things MSIA and the Mystical Traveler are my life, I am on my way home to God, and I am further blessed to volunteer for MSIA and IIWP and work with Loving Each Day quotes and Moments of Peace quotes – I call it the chocolate of volunteer jobs. Life is good!

  1. Just reading your personal account of our experience with MSIA and J-R and Insight reawakened that glow of the Traveler within. Guy.
