Editor’s Note:  We asked Ania Bella Sara if we could publish a poem she wrote and recently shared at the Los Angeles Global Ministers Meeting.  Here is her poem:

THE BLESSING IS THIS MOMENT 

Each moment,

Each breath,

Presents another opportunity to choose.

Choose, breathing in and breathing out.

In, out, in, out, in, out.

 

Each opportunity chosen into a clear clean breath of life,

This is a moment of choice.

How will we choose to use it?

This breath of life is a gift we’ve been given freely.

It is – after all – the breath of our life.

It is how this physical anatomy can walk and be on the planet.

This breath is our freedom of being in joy.

This breath is a messenger, our very Spirit.

 

A moment to choose peace and altitude over attitude.

A moment to choose cooperation and compassionate communication over self-righteousness.

A moment to choose acceptance over ignorance or lack of knowledge and experience.

A moment to choose empathy and love with understanding over violence.

 

Each moment, each breath, is an opportunity to receive a blessing of peace.

Each moment, each breath, is an opportunity to give and receive forgiveness of all things.

Each moment, each breath, is an opportunity for grace to be extended with enthusiasm.

Each moment, each breath, is an opportunity to be in our authentic self.

 

This moment is now,

This moment is calling us to experience our own self-loving.

This moment is the divine calling us to know the truth of that which is.

We are indeed this precious moment, this breath of the divine.

Embrace it with acceptance of loving grace from God.
