Christmas Service Projects – December, 2001

Article imageAs always each project brings with it special miracles, loaves and fishes multiplying before our eyes, and of course the holy connection that occurs when we are able bring loving hearts and an abundance of gifts to God’s most in-need children. Our Heartfelt Christmas Service Projects in Los Angeles were:

1. We found 150 homeless children and their mothers who are sleeping nightly at the Union Rescue Mission on Skid Row; and 50 children and families of Central City Community Church who were living in the same area. Heartfelt gave them a fantastic party with Santa, toys, food, candy canes, crafts, games and lots of cheer. Loving volunteers gently eased the children out of their stupor and shock through hugs, smiles, photos with Santa, and safety. Many of us cried a good deal to see the sweet healing and bonding occurring in so many ways. Our project leaders were Elaine Baran, Jodi Improta, Beth Hubbard and Melissa Ward.
