Devon – Bovey Castle Day 1

A full day’s bus ride from London, south and west through the British countryside, to southwest England brings us to Devon, where we will stay in Bovey Castle for 3 days. We arrive in the early evening. The vibe is sweet, soft, magical, like a fairyland. The “castle,” built in 1907, is gorgeous, and there are lakes, a golf course, and gardens that stretch over hillsides. Kenneth Grahame wrote “Wind in the Willows” not far from here, and the countryside has the feeling of a British storybook. People here have an aptitude for living in harmony with nature, the land feels unpolluted and cared for, the plants and animals feel happy. Walking around just after our arrival we meet some others of the group, including Amrit and Zoe doing cartwheels and dancing on the golf greens in the soft evening light. Through all of this, as on the whole trip, you can feel J-R sitting in his room somewhere, directing the play, filling us with love, extending protection, watching over us as we all take our little excursions in the world to play and work our karma.
