On the Road in the Northeast with John-Roger, John Morton and the MSIA Traveling Staff

Article imageDay 1 — Boston

It’s fun to be traveling again. The four of us, Cleora Daily, Paul Kaye, Vincent Dupont and I rendezvous at Los Angeles Airport to start our MSIA staff trip to the Northeast U.S. Our first stop is the Boston area where we will do MSIA services and hopefully be joined by John-Roger and John Morton.

We arrive in Boston at midnight and find our way to our hotel in Newton, a suburb of Boston. Spring has just barely touched down here. There are tiny buds of green starting to come out on the trees, even though today’s temperature was a downright hot 90 degrees. We missed all the traffic and the excitement of the Boston Marathon today coming in as late as we did, but our drive was easy. We unpack and settle in for MSIA Services start tomorrow morning.

Day 2 — Boston

We did MSIA Services all day today at our hotel which is on the banks of lovely river. An absolute luxury was looking out over the river at lunch, seeing the ducks and other birds framed by these trees with little red blossoms making Japanese-style pictures for us. Very peaceful. Late this evening we are joined by John-Roger and John Morton and the posse as Jsu (Jesus Garcia), Nathaniel Sharratt, Erik Albrecht and Mark Harradine have been lovingly named (by the Windermere bunch) and Roger Wakefield, our NOW productions staff person, arrived making us a complete crew. What a treat to have J-R traveling with us, and what fun!

Day 3 – Still Boston

We do more MSIA Services today, hugging and schmoozing with old friends as we come and go to Services. Then it’s off to participate in the IIWP Q&A Fundraiser with John-Roger and John Morton.

Charlie Verge is hosting this event at his home in Newton. As we enter, we appreciate how beautifully and lovingly he has transformed his living and dining room. There are 5 round tables decorated in purple, blues and golds. J-R and John are seated at different tables and then seating is done for all the attendees by drawing. By the luck of the draw Nathaniel, Mark, Erik, Roger, Cleora and I are all at one table — we dub our table the children’s table.

Throughout this most tasty dinner we have loads of laughter as we share stories and taste the superb food. The entrees are steak and salmon with yummy herb sauces, and for dessert an incredible berry cobbler with frozen yogurt. Somehow Nathaniel manages to get seconds on the cobbler, must be that boyish charm!!

Laughter and chatting rebounds all around the room, and then things begin to quiet and we know it’s getting close to Q&A time. Charlie calls us all forward into the Light. Mark shares about the Institute for Individual and World Peace and introduces some fun videos that show the wonders of Windermere in some new perspectives. Then we have — J-R and John. For five hours they open the floor to take questions from the 17 participants and sponsors in this event. With wisdom, love, humor and caring, J-R and John cozily share and respond to these lucky people. We all are blessed to listen, and hopefully learn along with them. And we’re grateful for the willingness of these 17 people to donate so generously to IIWP in this format.

Charlie did such a beautiful job of coordinating all the details and Lisa Boone and Stawn Barber and a few other kind people helped to prepare all the logistics of this evening. Thank you a hundredfold.
