The 2010 San Francisco MSIA Ministers & Initiates Q&A Brunch with the Traveler

Early on a cool December morning, my companions and I, accompanied by a CD of lively Irish fiddle tunes, drove from Petaluma through the rolling green oak hills of southern Sonoma and northern Marin, headed to the annual NorCal MSIA Q&A Brunch with the Traveler in San Francisco. We passed a large field thick with deep green grass and studded with bright orange pumpkins scattered along its length. We continued on through Marin ringed by its lushly wooded hills. Green was everywhere, fed by the recent rains, and dotted with occasional bursts of brilliant orange-yellow-red foliage. We crossed the towering span of the Golden Gate into the City and turned toward Fisherman’s Wharf and our destination.

The Q&A was opened by Lisa Babinet, who sweetly MC’d the event. Lisa began by bringing up her husband Eric to call in the Light. Laila Millar and Susan Frye each took the stage in turn with songs sweetened by the heartfelt gift of their singing.

When John Morton was welcomed to the stage, he spoke with his customary gentle grace and humor. John shared a story about his intention of ministry to J-R and the value of serving without ego. He talked about the value of being relaxed as a state in which we can better move through or away from negativity because our tensions impede us. He also enumerated the themes of each level of initiation, explaining the physical initiation’s theme of “attention” as referring to directing our attention to the Soul, and the astral level theme being the “ambition” to lift ourselves up to God.

John then took sharing with a few individuals so that all present could share, each to our own capacity, in the wisdom and grace extending from the Traveler.

When the Q&A was concluded, our basic selves took our other two selves immediately into the dining room for a tasty buffet shared in the good company of each other. After the goodbyes, the hugs, and the parting words, we all headed out to our next destination, some to Living in Grace, others back to our homes and lives, each of us moving on to our next opportunity.
In loving,
Mary McClary
