We Are Family — the Traveler in Brisbane
[with Photos]

Saturday 7 March was a day of celebration for our MSIA Queensland family when our beloved Traveler John Morton was welcomed to our midst. Over 60 warm hearts came together in Brisbane from as far afield as Scotland, New Zealand and interstate. John’s theme was the Path to Mastership. This was an open seminar that was ably introduced by Vincent DuPont. Vincent told how the path requires us to choose back, and how mastership means attaining mastery of ourselves.

Then John reminded us that laughter and joy are qualities of mastership. He expounded on the eleven qualities associated with mastership. For instance, to surrender to what is true demonstrates a willingness to live in truth. He emphasized that the greatest of these is loving. These qualities are ours to guide us to a higher state, for we were born with inherent mastery of God consciousness. The trick is to stay open to our divine nature while doing the things required of us in the world.

After fellowshipping over supper, we enjoyed a Discourse Subscribers meeting with John. He reminded us to ask for spiritual directives so we can become self-reliant. This invites our God Self to be in charge. To show up, even when we don’t know what the Light asks of us. (This is something that John himself has powerfully and repeatedly demonstrated.) The evening ended with Q&A which John generously answered.

Many thanks go to Pauline Wash, MSIA Rep, and her many willing helpers: Kaye Rosnick (a great event promoter), Paula Flynn (products), David Craven (services scheduler), and the many wonderful volunteers. And, we were happy to welcome Richard Price (and his vast amount of IT equipment) back to Aussie soil.

All together our gathering expressed much laughter and joy in each other’s company. Indeed, it was as John said, we are family.
