John-Roger and The Wayshower Movie Preview in New York City — Two Exclusive Preview Screenings July 9, 2011

John-Roger and Jsu Garcia, co-directors of the movie The Wayshower, held two exclusive preview screenings of the movie in New York City at the Helen Mills Theatre on Saturday July 9th at 7pm and 9pm. A new edit of The Wayshower was shown to the NY crowd, many of whom saw the original cut shown in preview screenings held in NYC in 2010. Some of their feedback follows.

The 7pm seating was standing room only. Those who saw the film last year all agree this edit was 100 percent better!” – Joan Beisel

The Wayshower movie was a powerful catalyst for my creating a clear focus on some spiritually troubling conundrums I have experienced throughout my life.” – Steven Flam

The Wayshower is a truly heartfelt journey. Although the movie depicts a personalized introspection, of the main character, I was invited to explore my own story. What are the things that I hide from in the depths of my soul? What are the doubts and fears that I can confront and learn from? The Wayshower, in all its cinematic glory is, at its center, an invitation to visit yourself.” – Emily John

I don’t know how exactly, or when, but this movie is going to be famous. This movie is going to be known.” – Roberta Babinet

It was back to The Helen Mills Theater again this year for screenings of The Wayshower movie. The theater was packed. J-R was there. There is nothing like going to the movies when you can lean back – look over and see J-R sitting there. Ah life is sweet! The movie had been re-edited since it was shown in New York City a year ago. It was shorter, clearer, with some interesting new audio effects. Thanks Jsu for what you do! When the movie was over, there was a fascinating Q&A with Jsu and Rick Ojeda and Laurie Lerner. I thought Jsu’s commentary on the movie was just as interesting as the movie itself. There was a second movie showing that night. Well, I must say this was a very sweet day: Paul Kaye workshop, J-R Q&A, J-R book signing, and watching the new and improved The Wayshower movie with J-R. Life is good! Thanks to all!” – Graham Holley

What a wonderful day! Being in the loving presence of John-Roger and enjoying the friendship and community of my New York friends.” – Bertrand Babinet

Jay (Winston) and I are so grateful for the opportunity to attend three amazing events with J-R again this year in NYC. Thank you New York! First was the luncheon in an old famous restaurant in NYC with lots of history and ambiance and good food….filled with Light, beautiful sharing of friendship, and the unspeakable blessing of having J-R with us in person, sharing individually with so many. My heart is still overflowing with loving as I am writing this. Then came the workshop with Paul Kaye, The Wayshower, where Paul shared of his process of discovering the Wayshower in such a beautiful, vulnerable way, laced with the humor we so love. Even though I had done the longer Conference workshop, I found this workshop Paul presented to be deeply rich and usable. J-R, Paul and Jsu then took sharing from the participants, and this was followed by booksigning with Paul and J-R, again J-R spending individual time with each of us as we brought up our book to be signed. The blessings are overflowing! — When I close my eyes, I can still see J-R smiling a huge smile as we shared. After the workshop we (J and I, Bruce and Anne Campbell) found a little Persian restaurant where Jay could still honor his new eating commitment, and then finished with the early showing of The Wayshower movie at the Helen Mills theater. I had seen the movie last year, and I loved the changes. We really enjoyed it, but made a quick exit and missed the sharing in order to hit the road to get back to Boston by 1 am. Again, thank you to Melba Alhonte and the New York community, all the creativity, hard work and loving that went into presenting this to the rest of us. And of course deepest gratitude to J-R, Paul and Jsu for all that is given.
