An Evening of Light with John Morton at MSIA’s Monthly Q&A Event on the Internet in April

Article imageA lively crowd filled the Brentwood Ballroom in Santa Monica, California, on the evening of April 8th for a Q&A session with John Morton, Spiritual Director of the Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness (MSIA). An eclectic mix of MSIA students and newcomers to MSIA came to participate in the event at the 2101 Wilshire building and on the Internet worldwide.

Leigh Taylor-Young, resplendent in a Japanese inspired outfit, was the MC for the evening, and she began the event by welcoming the global community tuned in live on the Internet. She told us a little about her spiritual quest, and about having found MSIA in 1973. She described the teachings of MSIA as “practical spirituality” and then called in the Light.

Leigh then introduced Clea Rose, who played guitar and sang a song she wrote, titled “It’s A Miracle.” It was a beautiful and uplifting song that sparkled just like Clea does.

Leigh then introduced Dr. John Morton. John began the evening by describing his recent travels to Australia and Hawaii. He shared about a poem that he had heard while in Australia and then a video of an Australian MSIAer reading the poem was shown. The poem focused on peace, a timely subject.

Then the Question and Answer session began, the first question coming from Argentina, via the Internet: “How do I keep neutral in situations that pull me off balance, such as the war in Iraq and poverty I see around me in Argentina?” Then, a question from a participant in the Ballroom, “How can I remove entities from myself, how do I get rid of dark, cloudy spots in my aura?” Next, a question from an online participant in Sherman Oaks, “What would be the highest contribution we could make, and what can we do for the people of Iraq?” John’s answer was simple: Loving in All Ways, Always in Love, allowing more levels of loving in every way we can.

Next came this question, “I want to look more objectively at negativity, how can I make my life more Graceful?” Then came the same question asked by two different online participants: “I awaken at night with my own screaming, and cannot remember my dreams. Is this the work of the Traveler?” “I have recurring nightmares, what should I do?” To sum up John’s answer to both questions: Go through them quickly, and be glad the dreams are not your waking life.

John then digressed a bit, describing his job as the Traveler as being similar to a story in which the little Dutch boy put his finger into a small hole in the dyke, to keep the sea from overwhelming the farm lands. In a similar way, I heard John say that the Traveler’s job is to anchor Itself in the world as a force to counter-act negativity. Negativity can start in the smallest ways, and can flood everything if we are not watchful. Or, we can take a position to hold it back, with patience, upholding ourselves in the Light.

From Venezuela, the next question was, “In an intense process, how can I find greater clarity and strength?” John’s answer: Molding the Golden Chalice may require great heat and fire; God is perfecting, purifying and cleansing you. For more on that, check out the Initiation, Molding the Golden Chalice CD from MSIA.

The last question was: “How can I overcome loss?” John advised us not to be bashful in receiving someone’s loving and caring. He closed with a Blessing on all of God’s creation, One People, One Planet, One Creation.

Leigh Taylor-Young closed the evening by recommending Soul Awareness Discourses for anyone wanting to study the teachings of MSIA. All in the Ballroom were invited to partake in the refreshments, and to mingle and meet others.
