When I walked into the 2101 Wilshire building in Santa Monica, California, on November 1st, I wondered if I had the correct address. The building was transformed into an Oscar-style location for Insight’s 25th Anniversary Gala fundraiser honoring Insight’s Founder, John-Roger, and Insight’s Creator, Russell Bishop. Guests were welcomed by valet parking attendants and we walked down a red carpet to the 2101 entrance, complete with Hollywood spotlights.

We were met on the red carpet by interviewer Laren Bright and his NOW Productions camera team. Laren’s favorite question for the female guests at this Insight Gala event was about their relationship with Insight’s creator, Russell Bishop. The female guests each replied that she was the only woman Russell ever loved, after much prompting from Laren of course.

The interior of the 2101 building was also transformed by a team of angel artists led by Elaine and Dale Kitchell. Beautiful hanging tapestries were everywhere, along with Insight logos and lovely flower arrangements. Guests enjoyed delectable food treats as they awaited their individual photo sessions with John-Roger, Russell Bishop, and Insight’s Spiritual Director, John Morton.

The Q&A session with John-Roger, Russell and John Morton followed for those guests who had made top level donations to attend the Insight Gala. As a special treat, Greg Blanchard sang “Bring Him Home” from Les Miserables. During the hour and a half Q&A, John Morton also requested live video clips from the red carpet as the guests continued to arrive at the Gala.
