“Rise and Shine” — Easter Sunday on the Beach with the Traveler

It is 5:56 a.m. Easter morning as I am leaving the house and waiting for my carpool to Santa Monica Beach. A large white van pulls up for me and it’s Julie Marvis and her daughters Sofia and Tasha. The excitement is already present for what will be a beautiful day with our beloved MSIA spiritual family at our Easter celebration with John Morton on Santa Monica Beach.

We arrive at the beach and drive towards our usual spot for MSIA’s Easter morning on the beach. We put out the family welcome sign, that has a very large HU symbol on it I might add. We find our parking spot and head for the sand. Julie, the girls and I stand on the area we choose to be the place for the MSIA welcome table and called ourselves forward into Spirit, placing a column of Light there for our family and guests that are to join us later. It is still early and dark enough that we can see the lights on the Santa Monica pier and on the amusement park rides. It is magical watching at a distance as the Ferris Wheel turns, and looking up at the clear blue sky. One of our first tasks is to put up the banners of welcome for all the public to join us in an Easter Celebration.

The sun is slowly making it’s way up as all the preparations are coming together. The four of us are unloading the van as a couple of other volunteers drive up (Yeah!!). Then the truck with all the tables and chairs arrives (Yeah!!). More volunteers are showing up and we all pitch in to set up the tables. Here come the balloons (Yeah!). Gabe Marvis arrives and joins his sisters Sofia and Tasha in filling all the flower pots with sand, putting windmills in them and setting them on the tables. Even more volunteers are coming and the electricity of fun is in the air. “Where’s the coffee people,” I cry. The kids laugh, but I really want some coffee!

Things are starting to shape up nicely as more people show up to assist in bringing it all together. NOW PRODUCTIONS IS HERE (Yeah!!). Oh boy, folks are arriving with foods of all kinds. Oh my gosh, it’s the coffee, let me at it! Urth Caff
