Where Lambs Lie Down with Lions: Invitation to the Christ Within

Several people at last year’s workshop (Walking in the Light) asked if we could have a different workshop for Easter this year, one we could do online that would bring in the Christ energy. We chose the Invitation to the Christ Within workshop.

I initially resisted the request to change anything because sometimes change brings forward a challenge and an opportunity to let go, surrender and expand beyond what I think I can be.

I was aware of John Morton’s love for the Walking in the Light workshop and keenly attuned to the value it brings in.

I was also somewhat attached to having an annual experience that renewed the practice of doing the Walking in the Light exercises, on a daily basis, where the Christ energy gets integrated into my cells.

Despite my attempt to be passive and quiet, which I often long for, the fire in me roared and the sirens moved me to communicate what was screaming to get out.

I wrote John and got the response I imagined. He asked me simple clear questions and once I shared what was inside of me, he gave his stamp of approval and we were off on a journey.

I was relieved because at least the sirens stopped and the fires cooled off, for the moment.

I imagine that the preparation done for these workshops is multidimensional.

A month out from the workshop, I received another call to action, because the enrollment for the workshop was low and the sirens once again began singing. I waited as long as I could and then picked up the phone to call John Morton because an email would not do.

He asked me once again what called me to propose a change, and to share that information with people, during the LA Minister’s meeting. I initially contracted inside and then relaxed into the truth of who I am and calmed as I let laughter liberate my expression of loving made visible.

As I stood on stage at the Minster’s meeting, quiet and empty I noticed the Christ consciousness in my heart moving ahead of me, leading me into a sweet space where I can imagine the lion loving the lamb; lying peacefully in graceful poise, with no fear – simply loving. I remembered for just a moment that the lion and the lamb are ONE – not two as it appears.

As I witnessed a consciousness of loving spilling over to my MSIA family, I felt connected to everybody in the room, and on the planet, as One loving vibration going home to God. Through Christ eyes I saw the kingdom of heaven available, so I jumped in.

I wonder if we raise the vibration on the planet by having a place in time to gather in the name of love?

Working with John Morton and Leigh Taylor-Young Morton, John’s wife, was an intensely amazing experience that propelled me completely into the energy of the workshop. I fell in love with both of them in a way that is tangible and heart-expanding.

I initially called Leigh because we sometimes work on Traveler workshops together, especially the ones she facilitates with John. Leigh and I spent several hours, days, weeks working with the script content and design. Out of each version came a new level of Christ energy birthing itself through the attention/intention we gave it.

John came in curious about what we were up too. I marveled at the courage and gentleness of a lion in full glory. I know from this workshop that to get into the net of the Traveler is a profound blessing we all share; no matter how the intensity moves to surface the best of what is inside calling to get out.

Gratefully, after soothing some deep levels of caution, the wall came crumbling down and I can say with gratitude, Thank you Traveler, Christ and Friend for the opportunity to love all people and things, to look for the good and to leave the rest to God.

I joyfully work for Peace Theological Seminary as the Co-Academic Dean, also serving as the Director of large events. I am familiar with the negativity that gets transformed through these workshops. I often feel like I have a renewed consciousness and body when I finish an event. The Invitation to the Christ Within Workshop would be no exception.

I am usually very relaxed at events I organize, but during this one I was tense on the first day, and attached to everything being perfect. In a humorous relaxed tone John Morton walked up to me and asked if I knew this was the party that we’d prepared.

I did not know that, but laughed and opened to the love that was present and palpable in the room, available to me by simply shifting my focus.

I walked away from this workshop, Invitation to the Christ Within, knowing that we are blessed beyond measure and deeply loved by our beloved Travelers J-R and John.

I have a renewed sense of devotion, dedication and reverence for what we are bringing forward here as Ministers, Initiates and Friends of the Traveler.

Each time I organize, design and/or participate in a Traveler gathering, I realize that I have an invitation from the Christ within to raise the vibration, in all that I choose to participate in, through loving myself and everyone around me as I am.

When I was a little girl, my Dad read me one version of the Adam and Eve story from a big red bible. The picture I remember looked like the Garden of Eden. In the garden lay lambs and lions resting together in a green spacious pasture of blue skies and infinite potential. I pondered this picture for years and wondered how a lion could be a friend of a lamb and a lamb a friend of a lion. I thought lions ate lambs, right? Maybe the picture was taken on a day when the lion was full and the lamb was present to the majesty the lion emanates.

What consciousness brings forward a lion coexisting with a lamb in a garden that the lord has prepared long ago?

John Morton talked to us during the workshop about the One Accord and how if we came into the truth of it and a knowing we are born the lord, we would truly live in heaven on earth once again.

  1. This was a wonderful experience for me – positively transformational. I am grateful for all that went into making it such a special and sacred celebration of the Christ’s loving presence.
