Living and Loving the Blessings: BlessingsFest Tea Party 2006

From the crack of dawn until the sun was setting, as a guest staying at Prana this year I was aware of the Living Love that was in abundance for our BlessingsFest Tea Party. Early in the morning, Janet and Lawrence Caminite, who held the focus for the BlessingsFest last year and again this year, joyfully guided the set-up crew as tables, chairs, dishes, silver and glassware were gently and beautifully arranged in the foyer and seminar rooms.

Carol Jones, Helen and Allan Bradley, and Dale and Elaine Kitchell were abuzz helping with set up, seeing to it that all the important details were handled with tender loving care. I was blessed to get to observe Marjorie Eaton and Marsha Scott arrange fresh flowers into elaborate centerpieces for the buffet as well as delicate small ones for each and every table. And while all this was going on, numerous other MSIA Staff and Volunteers were behind the scenes answering phones, directing traffic, handling requests, and preparing meals for Prana residents and guests. Throughout these hours of loving service, the humor and friendship shared so generously by everyone warmed my heart. I felt blessed over and over just to be able to witness such Living Love well before the Tea Party officially began.

Several BlessingsFest donors arrived early and enjoyed living the blessings at Prana by touring the Home of the Travelers, walking the Labyrinth, and visiting the Gardens. Some participants took their seats and came into the silence, holding the Light and preparing the place for all the blessings about to be brought forward in our time together. Once we all had arrived, Janet Caminite welcomed us and Lawrence Caminite then called in the Light inviting us to come together in one accord for our afternoon of blessings.

At each seat was placed a card and a pencil for us to use to write down the blessings we wished to receive. Some folks wrote down their requests right away while others waited patiently for the words to come. We were reminded that the blessing requests weren’t necessarily about the words verbatim but about their essence. The cards were collected and given to John Morton and John-Roger who both joined us for the entire Tea Party and answered our calls with patience, loving and humor.

Our Tea Party was exquisitely catered by Urth Caff
