Dr. Paul Kaye’s Book Event in Washington, DC on “Momentum: Letting Love Lead”

Article imageSnow was falling as people gathered in the Washington, DC Borders Book Store for an evening with Paul Kaye to learn about Momentum: Letting Love Lead, a book which Dr. Kaye co-authored with John-Roger and which is published by Mandeville Press. Even with the snow storm, 30 people came to listen to Paul and purchase autographed copies of Momentum. Many in the audience were from the local community of the Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness (MSIA), and there were also customers from the book store who participated. A large poster was on display at the entrance to the store announcing the event.

Paul began by saying, “Thank you for braving this weather to share in this loving evening. This represents a choice on your part, and it’s fantastic. Where we place our attention is a key because there are so many things drawing our attention.” After his introduction, Paul spoke about other keys and exercises in awareness that are available in the book.

Paul said “relaxing is a requirement before letting love lead,” and he guided us through ten seconds of observing our breath — simply bringing our focus to the rising and falling of our breath. “Even if you’re not interested in spirituality, this is good for your immune system,” he said, and we noticed the quiet harmony present in the room after this simple exercise. Paul continued by saying that the Momentum book contains many “practical tools for every day living that will enable you to come back into yourself.”

After relaxing, how do you move into the loving? By consciously saying: “I love this.” Paul explained that these simple words seem to create another kind of energy — the energy of loving, “even if you don’t feel this or believe it.”

Paul read and discussed selections from Momentum: Letting Love Lead, explaining that we are “spiritual beings” having “human experiences.” He said, “I want you to have an experience of yourself as a spiritual being.” That’s one of his reasons for co-authoring this book and traveling to introduce people to the practical, workable concepts contained in it.

Paul concluded his presentation by taking questions from the audience. Our Washington, DC community was blessed and fortunate to listen to the wisdom in both the questions from the audience and Paul Kaye’s answers. After his talk, Paul was generous with his time, chatting with people and signing books.
