John-Roger & John Morton in the City that Never Sleeps

Article image4/28/04 — 4/29/04, New York, NY

New York City has had many nicknames throughout its history, some of which include: New Amsterdam, Gotham, Metropolis, the Big Apple, Manhattan, but the most fitting for our adventure was “the city that never sleeps.” There was no rest for the Travelers in New York, where they closed shop at the Insight fundraising Q & A at 3:30 a.m., only because the room needed to be vacated.

The night before, John Morton did an MSIA seminar. John-Roger was “in the house,” dressed in his cowboy shirt getup, sitting in the back of the room. John took sharing from those present, and every now and then, John would check in with J-R, and J-R would give John the thumbs up sign, which seemed to amuse John.

Jumping back to our heroes at the Q & A — with about fifty people in attendance, both John-Roger and John Morton shared, and shared and shared. The sharing lasted around 8 hours, and by the time the writer of this article saw the pillowcase, the sun was rising in the sky. After taking a bite out of the Big Apple, the Travelers moved on to the city of brotherly love — Philadelphia.
