MSIA’s June 22nd Internet Broadcast — A Heart Opening Q&A Evening with John Morton & Friends

MSIA’s monthly Internet broadcasts (LIVE! from the Brentwood Ballroom) have been a wonderful addition to the opportunities Spirit has place before us, and the broadcast on Tuesday, June 22nd was no exception. To sit in the same room with the Traveler, absorbing the love, the Light, and the teachings, is a beautiful thing. But to sit in the comfort of one’s own home (bunny slippers optional) is probably the height of spiritual ease and grace.

The ever gracious Mary Hulnick, Academic Vice President of the University of Santa Monica, was the evening’s Mistress of Ceremonies, and after calling in the Light, she led us in the Ani-Hu chant to bring forward God’s presence and empathy amongst the gatherers. Mary followed this with a short explanation about MSIA from her own experience and a description of Soul Awareness Discourses.

Mary invited Robert Tackney to the stage, who played his guitar and sang his own song, “Friends for Life”, a song about parenting, loving and caring. Then Barbara Wieland also came up, to sing an Italian song that she wrote prior to attending an MSIA Seminar in Italy. The remarkable thing about this song is that Barbara does not speak Italian; however, she (and later John Morton) commented that it was a small miracle that she was able to listen inwardly and to write down the song as she heard it, and then received confirmation from a native Italian as to what the words actually were.

Next, Phil Danza, head of NOW Productions, introduced a new MSIA product — a DVD collection containing John-Roger seminars and Moments of Peace from the PAT (Peace Awareness Training) travels in Egypt & Israel — which will be available for purchase at MSIA’s Conference of Service starting on June 30th. It was a great preview of an inspiring product that you will definitely want to purchase.

Mary Hulnick then lovingly introduced the man of the evening, John Morton.

John commented that some of the excerpts seen on the new DVD will be used at the workshop being offered at Conference, and the workshop will also use some of the exercises that had been designed for PAT X, the journey to the Middle East that did not take place. In commenting about Barbara Wieland’s Italian song writing experience, he stated that in MSIA miracles are part of our ordinary experiences. John commented that making the teachings of MSIA available on the Internet is a miracle compared to how things were, say, 100 years ago. Today there is ample opportunity to pose questions and to do sharings with each other, even when we are many miles apart, even in different countries.

The first question was from a young boy in the front row of the Ballroom, who asked if God is part girl and part boy, to which John responded with acknowledgment and affection.

The second question was from a participant on the Internet: “How can I overcome my desire to control life, to micro-manage things, and how can I let God lead?” John commented on some possible reasons for wanting to control, and reminded us that God is the one in charge.

The next question was from a woman in the Brentwood Ballroom, who asked: “How can I open more to relationship, and stay open?” John offered, among other things, that we are all powerful enough to take on any relationship and that we have a responsibility to ourselves to discover what is true and what is not so.

An Internet participant from Chiapas, Mexico asked: “I am having a hard time doing spiritual exercises, and studying the Discourses; any suggestions?” John’s simple answer was to open the Discourse and just look at a page a day. Build the relationship with the Inner Master.

From Australia, an Internet participant asked: “Can we ever really change our personalities?” John responded to learn to love it as it is.

A participant in the Ballroom expressed their loving for John-Roger, and talked about how they missed him when he is not present. John reminded all of us that the personage lives inside of each of us.

John took a moment to introduce Tamsin Rothschild, from South Africa via Australia and New Zealand, who is the new Proprietor of Peace Awareness Labyrinth and Gardens. He advised her to work with vitality, and joy.

As a closing, John placed a Blessing of Light upon all of us, noting that we could breathe it in, and acknowledge that we are worthy.

Mary Hulnick finished the evening by inviting all to share in the refreshments and companionship.

Join us on Saturday, July 24th at 1:00 p.m. pacific time for our first Internet broadcast from Peace Awareness Labyrinth & Gardens. John Morton will be on hand for the Q&A and John-Roger has been invited to participate. If you are in the Los Angeles area we encourage you to attend this event at Prana to see our new dining facilities, walk the labyrinth and visit the meditation gardens. On the Internet, this event will be available in audio only!
