Today is a great celebration. It’s a beautiful warm summer day as Sina Najarian and I arrive at Prana, also known as Peace Awareness Labyrinth & Gardens, to attend a Q & A event with John Morton at 1:00 p.m. this afternoon. We are greeted by the lovely Barbara Wieland sitting under a beautiful umbrella looking cool as she directs us to the appropriate parking area. I love when we have these mid-day Internet events with John Morton.
Sina and I are very excited about today’s event. Many have not yet seen the beautiful new dining room at Prana, and it’s been awhile since John has done a live seminar here. Greeting everyone at registration are Genie Ford, Luciana Morressi, and Ken Jones. I make my donation and sign in.
I love the side entrances in the front of Prana. Those are the ones we are using today. It leads us right into the Large Seminar room. Most of the seating is set up in the foyer where John will speak. I find a chair to lay my things down, dubbing it the “reporter’s chair.” I start mingling with people to see who’s here and to take some photographs of the dining room. The outdoor patio is open, so I’m going out to view the courtyard from there. Spectacular! I do some more roaming through the dining room and through the foyer and out to the front where people are coming in, all the while listening to the beautiful music being played at the piano by Val Kampmeier-Peake. The sound is bellowing through the entire house and out into the courtyards. The atmosphere is already peaceful as people start moving towards their seats to get started when hailed by our beloved Mark Lurie to join together in the room.
Mark welcomes everyone and calls us forward into the Light. Mark announces that this is the first live Internet event being broadcast from Prana. As I look around the setting and how we all are seated, even cascading up the stairs, I’m reminded of an earlier time with John-Roger at the location called the Light Castle.
We are then serenaded by the wonderful Eric Lumiere singing a song he composed last year. Eric made mention that he wrote it for an ex-girlfriend and we all laugh with him. He then tells us that this song is for those in love. As usual Eric had all of us engaged in not only his gifted voice, but in his heartfelt song of love for all of us.
Mark returns to the stage to welcome John Morton and we all stand to do the same. John starts right away with a question for all of us: “How do we apply ourselves to the movement of spiritual inner awareness?” John answers stating how to go about entering the silence. To listen. He starts to speak about the frequency that we listen to. John then speaks about the many sounds that we might hear. Just then a shrill of a sound is made and we all turn to see what that sound is. John then mentions that he wants to speak about the humor of MSIA and we all laugh.
Yes, laughter is a good thing. John talks about not taking ourselves so seriously. Then he says the word “conflagration” — a big destructive fire, as indicated in a dictionary. Many have question marks on the top of their heads with this one. For me, I see fire as part of a cleansing, a spiritual baptism, a sword of truth.
John speaks about how we worship. At this point I’m definitely feeling the presence of Spirit. At this time it seems like the entire room is having Soul communion. I am very much aware of Soul. I am aware that we are in the presence of the Holy Spirit. John continues right into a worship prayer. The prayer takes me to another place for which there are no words. The prayer is finished and I feel the fire. I can feel it in the heart, I feel cleansed and restored.
John goes into the Q & A portion of the event and we hear from Bogota, Colombia where 65 people have gathered to listen via the Internet. John is asked if there is any spiritual gain by being an MSIA Minister. John gives a resounding “yes” and continues on to share more about the blessings of the ministry.
The next question comes from a participant in the room. The person tells John that they are looking for their purpose. They mention that they are not enjoying themselves. Not having fun. John lovingly says, “Ok, your purpose is to enjoy yourself.” Laughter is heard in the room as we all recognize ourselves in this. John reminds us to love ourselves no matter what.
The next question comes from a participant on the Internet in Tinton Falls, New Jersey. A woman eight months pregnant states her concerns about what to do when her baby comes. John talks about the blessing in her situation.
Another question from a participant on the Internet in Brazil. The caller is tuning in as a new Discourse subscriber who is very grateful for the Light, for MSIA, and the Traveler. She sends her love. John replies with a thank you and his loving. And on that note — Baruch Bashan
Mark Lurie returns to the stage to make announcements including one that tells us we have complimentary refreshments on the rotunda, and that cakes and coffee from our new coffee bar are for sale in the new dining room.
