Days 9 & 10 on the Road with Angel Gibson in the Heartland

Article imageMSIA travel staff were in Chicago, Kalamazoo and Minneapolis recently, providing MSIA Services (Innerphasings, Polarity Balances & Aura Balances) as well as MSIA events with John Morton in various locations. Staff member, Angel Gibson, provides this update:

DAY 9 — A TRAVELER IN MINNEAPOLIS

It’s a cool morning’s walk to breakfast at The Keys restaurant in downtown Minneapolis for some of us travel staffers, but worth it once we got there. Yummie hash, oatmeal and more warm our tummies and stoke our furnaces for a full busy day ahead. Vincent heads off with Roger to set up the room for tonight’s “Letting Go and Letting God” open workshop with John Morton. Lesley Freeman, Cleora Daily and myself head to services at Kathy Kornblum’s. Bruce Rosenfeld and Elizabeth Frumin are eagerly continuing their education in learning balances with us. Kathy and her partner, Claire, make us more than welcomed in their cozy home. Soon the house is filled with friends waiting for their Services to begin. Our day speeds by, and we have a most wonderful lunch break with fresh kale/sweet potatoes and chicken, with apple pie for dessert. Meanwhile back in downtown Minneapolis John Morton visits E. P. Atelier bookstore owned by Shar Kanan and does an impromptu chat with about 12 lucky people who just happened to be visiting the store. One of those awesomely wonderful times with a Traveler who stopped by to sign his The Blessings Already Are books and visit with anyone there at Shar’s delightful store. Back at Kathy’s we finish Services and head back downtown for the workshop.

What a great workshop! We look at what it takes to Let Go “Relax” and Let God “Be Patient”. John deftly weaves in J-R quotes and Moments of Peace along with a beautifully healing meditation during his presentation this evening. Approximately 65 people attended this evening and afterwards there was so much gratitude for their experience of the workshop and getting to visit with John as he signed books, munched on goodies brought from Shar’s store, and listened to stories about MSIA in the old days in Minneapolis. Thanks too go to Jim Ness, Tracy Uttley, the Uttley boys, JB McLain, Marcia Leitschuh and even more volunteers who assisted in setting up, registering, providing musical contribution and all round assistance during the evening. We’re very proud of Lesley too, who is training on camera. Go girl! As the after event schmoozing winds down and the equipment is all packed up, we begin to wend our way upstairs. There’s packing to be done as we have Services to do in the morning and then planes to catch tomorrow afternoon. Lesley, Vincent and Roger return to Los Angeles, and Cleora and I will continue to Toronto. And just in time as the snow is forecasted to hit tomorrow. Thanks for the Light; keep it coming. Sweet dreams!

And this from PTS Rep, Tracy Uttley…

Several familiar MSIA faces and many new ones gathered in Minneapolis to partake in the Letting Go, Letting God Workshop with our Beloved Traveler, John Morton. Our MSIA Rep, Kathy Kornblum, along with our PTS Rep, Tracy Uttley, organized the event and were also the masters of ceremonies. J.B. McLain awed the crowd with his melodious guitar playing.

Approximately seventy-five people listened as John Morton eloquently spoke of his own experiences of learning to let go, let God and encouraged the rest of us to release blocks we were holding on to so we, too, could do the same. He also did a Q & A segment and a book signing. Lots of stories and laughs were shared at a small reception held afterwards. We loved having the Traveler’s energy in Minneapolis. John’s presence transformed a crisp, cool October night in Minnesota into a warm, inspirational night to be remembered.

DAY 10

Ah, it’s cool and rainy this morning as we look out our Minneapolis hotel window. However, undaunted, first Cleora and then I head outside to go to our new found home away from home The Keys restaurant. Well I haven’t gotten more than half a block when reality hits–it’s FREEEEEZING!!!! My teeth are cold, my legs and hands and face are cold. And what is that white stuff starting to sprinkle around me. Snow? What happened! I just start running and burst into the restaurant, almost jumping up and down to get warm. I figured the temperature must have dropped 20 degrees or close to it overnight. This Los Angeleno was just not prepared for such a turn. Still watching the little snow shower was delightful and made sipping my mocha more fun. Shortly after I joined Cleora, Vincent and Leslie propelled themselves through the restaurant doorway in a similar fashion as myself. Shaking and laughing from the shock of the temperature drop and the fun of seeing snow. What better excuse for having a huge breakfast. Today we do Services and then fly out in the afternoon. Vincent, Lesley and Roger are going back to LA, and Cleora and I along with Elizabeth Frumin will continue on to Toronto. After breakfast we hug and say goodbye as Kathy Kornblum comes to take Cleora and I to Services at her home. Only a half day of Services and soon Cleora and I are packed into Kathy’s car once again and we head to the airport.

Once through security we enjoy some window shopping, stopping at Starbucks for a little coffee treat and who should we meet but our comrades Lesley and Roger who are in hunter/gatherer mode. We follow them back to where they are encamped with Vincent and visit for a little while. Then Cleora and I walk the LA bound threesome to their gate and continue on to ours to await our flight to Toronto. Well it isn’t too much longer before we hear that our flight will be delayed several hours as Toronto is experiencing extremely windy weather closing down one of their runways. We decide to rough it and hang out in the United Red Carpet club which is such a treat of quietude. Looking out the window, the scenery changes back and forth between snow showers and beautiful sunshine and blue skies. Sometimes nature is so amazingly capricious. Finally our flight is called and we board our little jet. Our flight is easy and though we were delayed 2 hours all else goes smoothly once we get to Toronto. The Toronto MSIA Rep, Kristine Beaubien, has been waiting for us and packs all three of us — Elizabeth, Cleora and myself — with luggage into her car, a miracle in and of itself. The rain is coming down steadily and we are alerted that the cold weather is about to show its face to us. We now know what that means. More Brrrr. Well, happily we get to our hotel. Kristine invites us to enjoy a little of the night life, but looking at our full schedule for tomorrow, and seeing that it’s almost 11pm, we decide to go the moderate route and unpack, do room service and get some sleep.

Hmm, now we’re hungry–we’re realizing it’s been hours–when suddenly this loud sound starts emanating into our room and out in the hallway. Some kind of alarm is going off–it’s now almost 11:20pm. One thing we’re grateful for is that we’re still awake–then an announcement comes over a speaker telling us that we’re in an alarm situation at the stadium connected to the hotel. We’re not sure what that means, but things have definitely gotten more exciting since we arrived at the hotel. the alarm has not stopped and the announcements are happening intermittently. Finally room service connects, the alarm stops, and the food is delivered. Our hungry stomachs are happy, we’re getting that sleepy feeling, and the key emails are done for the night. Tomorrow we’ll have a full day of Services and a workshop in the evening, so off to bed we’re going. Bonne nuit! Bon Soir!
