Many Hands Make Light Work

Article imageWhen the MSIA Travel Staff recently visited Jacksonville and Miami, Florida, we, (Doug Gibson, Celia Allen-Graham and Timothea Stewart), met in an informal gathering in people’s homes to talk about how local MSIA communities can support John-Roger and John Morton’s books.

As we gathered in the living rooms of Sherry Buelow(Jacksonville) and Ron & Sue Tabin (Miami), I related J-R’s invitation to MSIA ministers to be involved with the research and marketing of J-R and John’s books as a part of an on-going ministry. Of course, all of the community is invited to assist in making the teachings of the Traveler available by getting these wonderful books into bookstores .

We talked about some ways people can assist:

1. Getting books into stores. Checking on what’s there. Ordering books. Contact Angel Gibson for particulars at 323-737-4055 ext.155
2. Advertising – newspapers, radio, TV or flyers

3. Articles & Interviews

4. Non-author book events or book club meetings

Some of the new John-Roger books are: “Loving Each Day, Volume 1,” “Relationships: Love, Marriage and Spirit,” “Sex Spirit and You,” and “Divine Essence.” And there is John Morton’s
beautiful book, “The Blessings Already Are.”

There are also the J-R books that can be found or ordered in bookstores: “Spiritual Warrior: The Art of Spiritual Living,” “The Spiritual Family,” “Forgiveness: The Key to the Kingdom,” “Tao of Spirit,” “Inner Worlds of Meditation” and “Psychic Protection.” And coming soon, a new John-Roger book that will be released around Mother’s/Father’s Day and it is “Loving Each Day for Moms and Dads.”

In both the Jacksonville and Miami communities, people expressed interest in going to bookstores together, taking different sections of the city. Some in Miami plan to go to stores in twos or threes to make it more fun and less daunting. There were a number of creative ideas that were discussed. They will be proposing to MSIA ministers in their community to make this a ministerial project. Stella Escobar plans to organize a group to have a book talk in Spanish and hold gatherings in an ongoing way. She already has an idea about the space where these gatherings could take place. It will be fun to see what happens.

We thank everyone for their participation in this collective project of getting the Traveler’s books into bookstores. If you are interested in participating, contact Angel Gibson by email to AngelG@msia.org or call (323) 737-4055.
