MSIA Is for the Highest Good of All Concerned

MSIA Is for the Highest Good of All Concerned

What we want is the highest Spirit available, and we would refer to that as the whole Spirit or the Holy Spirit. In other words, we’re not interested in focusing on lesser Spirit. We want the Spirit that is for the highest good, the highest Spirit available. – John Morton

This article comes from a seminar John Morton gave in Caracas, Venezuela on February 25, 1989.

The best word I know to describe what MSIA is about is love. So if you have any interest in love, then you came to the right place. We also have a whole lot to do with consciousness and specifically higher consciousness. As soon as we get into higher consciousness, that’s when we find our differences because higher consciousness has many forms. It’s also something that is primarily invisible.

It’s very easy to disagree on a concept. It’s also very easy to agree on a concept. We may be talking about very different things, and agree with one another. Or we may think we’re talking about the same thing and actually be talking about something different. When we move toward spiritual awareness, it’s very difficult to talk about. Nonetheless, I’m going to try.

I find that MSIA attracts nice people who are doing something in their lives to get the best, people who are willing to change and look towards something more. So it would be really nice if, as a result of our coming together, Spirit came more present.

I know some of you are already experiencing that. You might say, “Well, how do you know that? Is it the auras around the people? Is there a presence of the Spirit that you’re seeing invisibly in the room? Are the angels singing?”

Even though all that may be so, what I’m referring to is that there’s joy in the air along with a sense of anticipation. It might be enthusiasm or excitement. That doesn’t mean everybody’s experiencing that. I am experiencing that and I’m experiencing it with you as well.

One important element that you could bring to MSIA is to be aware of why you came here. You may have come because somebody invited you, and that was enough. There might have been a particular subject that you were looking for or perhaps an experience. I consider that it’s the experience that we’re really here for. If we could come away from this experience together with a greater experience of the Spirit, that would be what is important here.

What you can also do is just open yourself up to that experience. One reason I can come here and do this is because your experience is not dependent on me. Perhaps even more importantly, your experience of Spirit is not dependent on me. It’s between you and Spirit.

You might be asking, “Well, what do you mean by Spirit?” We do make a distinction. What we want is the highest Spirit available, and we would refer to that as the whole Spirit or the Holy Spirit. In other words, we’re not interested in focusing on lesser Spirit. We want the Spirit that is for the highest good, the highest Spirit available.

The best approach I know is to go to the source. We’re going after the highest source we can get ahold of. Do we claim that we have it? No. What we’re claiming is that we’ve got the highest source we can get ahold of. Somebody down the street may have a much higher source. And I would be open to any higher source that can be brought to me.

I’d like to offer to you a deeper experience of the Spirit. Spirit is often very spontaneous. And Spirit is kind of like children. You’d better keep one eye on where you’re going all the time.

Right now, we’re having a spiritual experience. Through our willingness to just go with what is, Spirit has a way of doing things according to its will. I learn how to dance with whatever music the Spirit’s playing. And I encourage you to do the same.

Spirit will come around and move you. It’s kind of like a magician. It has a way of getting to you without you knowing it, and before you know it, you’re overwhelmed with the Light. There are parts of our consciousness that can get in the way and block us from realizing the Spirit’s presence. I’ll just give you some general ways. You could block it with your mind, your emotions, your beliefs, even your body, just because you’re not prepared to deal with it.

Let’s say that our present awareness of the Spirit is like a light in the room. And the next level of Spirit is like having the sun in the room. Perhaps none of us would be prepared to deal with that level if it came fully present. Let us say that our potential for spiritual awareness is for the sun and even greater. If that’s the case, then let’s do whatever we can to prepare ourselves. This moment is an opportunity to prepare ourselves for a greater awareness of Spirit.

One thing we’ve found through MSIA, and for all of us, is our source of Spirit is within. We teach how to go within. It can begin simply with your breath, just by being aware of how your breath comes in and goes out. Be aware of the energy of your breath. Where do you experience it most directly?

For almost all of us, that’s going to be right in our heart. Even though we know the air comes into our lungs, notice how your awareness is with your heart, which resides between the lungs. You may be experiencing greater warmth in there.

Let us just say that the Spirit is making itself known through your breath. You can experience that energy extending to the other parts of the body, maybe through a radiance, a greater warmth. You may see the Light inside, and you may experience the Light around you. Some may have other images come forward. That’s not me doing that; that’s the Spirit.

You can take in a deeper breath, and let out any tension. As you breathe, breathe in peace, and let go of negativity. Peace is the absence of negativity. So let go of the negativity. Some of you may experience it more as a process of surrender. More and more, you are trusting this energy.

How do you experience this Light energy? Is it comforting, or does it disturb you? Do you allow yourself to let go, or do you try to maintain control? You may be aware of concerns you have or that you’re free of concern. With this Light you feel perfectly protected.

If you become aware of distractions or anything bothering you, put the Light between you and whatever that is. Let the Light surround and envelop that preoccupation. Let yourself experience how you allow the Light to be. If you haven’t already included the noise around you, including the sounds from the street, place the Light into all of that. Send the Light into the city, to all the people.

One of the aspects of MSIA is to learn to go within. Perhaps you experienced the benefits of doing this type of experience. We can learn how to bring ourself into peace, to harmonize our being. There is a great amount of assistance available, and we call that the Light. We made a distinction with the Spirit, between what would be the whole Spirit and the lesser Spirit. We make a distinction with the Light. Light that is of the whole Spirit. We call that the “Light for the highest good,” or the “Light for the highest good of all concerned.”

There’s another type of invisible light. It’s what we call the magnetic light. It could be the psychic light, which can be manipulated according to will and can be manipulated to go against people. The Light for the highest good cannot be manipulated against anyone or anything. It does not inflict. So we find when we place things into the Light, which works as a prayer, we say, “Light for the highest good.”

At times, we find what we ask for does not happen. Then we’re called upon to trust that was for the highest good. When you’re following the path of MSIA, you don’t always get what you want. But the Spirit always provides exactly what we need because what we want may not be for our best or the best of all things considered. What we want may not be for the highest good.

We learn how to let go of our selfishness and how to trust in God’s will. Then we are open to be free. If we insist upon our own will, in a way we’re saying, “I know better than you do, God. I’m wiser than you are. I’m looking at everything that’s going on in all the universe, therefore I know exactly what to do.”

If you don’t know everything that’s going on in the universe, then I suggest that you appeal to God’s authority, and place your life in the Light for the highest good. You can do that every day and every moment of every day.

The purpose of MSIA is Soul Transcendence. We’re focusing on the Soul, and moving our consciousness to the level of the Soul. That’s also saying that when we work with higher consciousness, there are many ways to work with higher consciousness without working directly with the Soul. We could call that working with the psychic levels or psychic powers. That is not the focus of MSIA.

Sometimes people come into MSIA looking for phenomena. They want to see miracles or phenomenon take place. Sometimes people say, “Show me something magical. Show me the powers of the Spirit.” Often those people walk away fairly quickly, because we’re not into that focus. Our focus is with the Spirit, and that’s a sacred focus. It’s a focus that honors all of life.

I’m going to give you some basic teachings of MSIA. These kind of encapsulate what MSIA is about. First, “Out of God comes all things.” There’s no exception to that. So if you would question anything like, “What about the murderers and the raping and the pillaging? Does this come out of God?”

Yes. How can that be? Why would God do unloving things? Well, it’s because it’s the little “gods” doing those things. And the little “gods” are called human beings. So those are gods growing up. Another way we refer to that is we are co-creators with God. Even though we are children of God, we haven’t fully matured. We may do things that are immature at times and perhaps very stupid and ignorant. Our history demonstrates it. People have been willing to be very inhumane towards one another. And we are called upon to accept that.

Part of that acceptance comes from another basic teaching of MSIA: “God loves all of Its creation.” That means God values and cherishes all of the creation, including the rapists and the murderers, the child abusers, whatever example you could reach. How can that be? How can God love that kind of creation?

God is unconditional loving. There is no condition that God’s love does not enfold and encompass. So if we’re going to rise to the Godhood of our being, we must learn how to be unconditionally loving. That’s not very easy. So how can we do that when we find ourself reacting to the negativity in the world? Become more aware of the Spirit of your being. For each person, the element of the Spirit for them personally is the Soul.

If we’re going to learn to be mature co-creators with God – fully developed and fully grown with all the powers that God can give – then we need to learn about our Soul. That’s the true element of our being. Our being is not our minds or our emotions, personality, the family we grew up with, or what country we’re from. The Soul is not masculine or feminine; it’s something that’s beyond the body.

A great Soul can be contained in a very small infant, and that infant won’t even know how to clean up after itself. It won’t know how to get food out of the refrigerator. Nonetheless, infants are very powerful creators. They command great care. Perhaps much more than anyone of us do right now.

When you see a little baby, you’re getting a very close look at the Soul. Keep in mind that the Soul is not the body, the mind, or the emotions. It’s the being, and that being is very powerful. As our bodies get larger, there’s a tendency for us to forget about the Soul. We get focused into the world. So there comes a time when we find out that the world doesn’t do it.

Perhaps we’ve gotten our education and our career. We have our spouse, our children, a nice home and nice things, but we’re still not satisfied. Why? Because if we’re not in communion with our Soul, our life is not full. Plain and simple. If someone is experiencing themselves as very full, and that life is full in all of its forms, you’re looking at a person who’s in touch with their Soul. That’s a person you can learn from. That’s someone I would stay close by, so you become full.

You may ask, “But what if I look at my life and there are no real examples? Everybody seems to be struggling in their own way. What can I do?”

You can call upon your Soul. There’s a consciousness of the Soul that we call the “Traveler” or specifically the “Mystical Traveler.” What does that mean? It’s the consciousness of the Soul. It’s a consciousness inside of each person who guides their awareness into the Soul. Did John-Roger invent it? John-Roger is the founder of MSIA. God invented the Mystical Traveler as an answer to our prayers.

We humans came into this world and forgot who we are. We woke up to that and cried out to God, “Help! Get me out of here! What am I doing here? What’s this world all about?” There is an answer. It comes from the consciousness of the Soul. There is a guide, or a being inside to help you, and we refer to that as the Mystical Traveler. Do we have an exclusive contract on it? No. It’s universal. We just have a contact, and we share it.

In all likelihood, you have already had an experience with the Traveler, many experiences. You didn’t necessarily understand what the experience was or where it came from. Nonetheless, it was something between you and God. And it could be identified with the sacredness of it or the majesty.

So why come to MSIA?

If the opportunity presents itself to you to have more direct contact with your Soul, and having more direct contact with your Soul is going to enrich and fulfill your life, wouldn’t you want that?
