Following the many screenings of Spiritual Warriors around the States filled mostly with our beloved MSIA community, we were excited to share this most recent Halloween Fundraiser at the Fine Arts Theater in Beverly Hills with the general public.

We actively promoted the screenings for the month prior and Spirit clearly caught our intention. With announcements on the radio, flyers distributed around the city, print ads (including in the LA Times), and heartfelt emails to friends and like-minded people and organizations, we filled both 3pm and 7pm screenings with new faces from all around Los Angeles.

Friends brought friends, colleagues and family. Actors, agents and industry contacts came to check out the ‘new spiritual movie’ advertised in the LA Times and the Hollywood Reporter. Members of the greater LA Spiritual community came out in support, including Agape, Guidance Church, Yogaworks and new friends from USM and Insight. And even a couple driving by were so intrigued by the title Spiritual Warriors on the marquee, that they changed their Halloween plans to include a screening.

The gorgeous Art Deco style foyer served as the mingling point for guests both before and after the screening, where the eclectic mix of Halloween costumes seemed to complement the long velvet couches, the extravagant lighting and the rich drapes throughout the Theater. High on the uplifting experience of the film, and perhaps the abundance of candy on Halloween night, guests stayed to chat and hang out following the rolling of credits.

Jsu Garcia, the film’s co-writer with Dr. John-Roger, led a Q&A following each screening, and it was here that the Universe confirmed for me the power of this film, Spiritual Warriors. Questions kept coming, as Jsu openly and honestly shared his own life, his relationship with J-R, and his clear intentions for making this film. Inspired by the almost tangible loving energy in the air, the insights, the revelation and the curiosity of our guests kept each Q&A running for almost an hour, as they expressed how moved, touched and overwhelmed they were with the message and the experience they received from the film.

So as everyone slowly dispersed and vacated the theater, despite sugar-come-downs and a late night … our warm experiences of the Spirit, our contact with our inner supernatural, and such sweet moments of divine mystic and magic … helped us to fly home, high with the joy and Lightness of our Halloween Adventure as Spiritual Warriors.
