Day 2 of the Spiritual Warrior Workshop at MSIA’s Conference of the Rest of Your Life

I guess the first day of the Conference was the first day of the rest of my life, so would that make the second day the second first day of the rest of my life? Doesn’t matter because I’m sure glad I was there with about six hundred other beautiful Souls and Lord knows how many Angels.

The Sheraton Ballroom is a big place, but it seems so small when you try to cram that much Light into it. We transform it from a cavernous hall with hotel carpet and hopelessly huge chandeliers, into a cozy cocoon of Light, Love and soft smiles reflecting back and forth from old friends that may only see each other this one time of the year. I heard someone say that it can be nice only seeing someone once a year physically since it’s pretty much impossible to have any issues that way. Interesting perspective.

We called in the Light which almost seemed redundant, and then Beth Hinman came up front and led us through a peace meditation. I think I heard the planet heave a sigh of relief when we finished. Thank you Beth for reminding us of what we can do as, well, Spiritual Warriors. Personally, I think we could just hold up a picture of Beth and the planet would become more peaceful.

Suddenly peace became Paulo, the fashion warrior from the planet Italy I think. It took Paulo about five minutes to make his way down the aisle amidst a din of whistles and cheers which gave me way too much time to notice his open shirt. I was glad to be gender secure I’ll tell you. Paulo requested, okay demanded, that we look at what qualities we wanted to exemplify this year and how we could donate to the Adopt-A-Horse program and receive a special blessing from the Traveler for that quality. He reminded us of his own qualities and, indeed, no one argued, for Paulo inspires and intimidates and the masses take heed.

Pauli Sanderson and John Morton, Spiritual Warriors themselves, came up on stage, and if you were smart you caught the blessing of their presence. We were shown some excerpts from the “Spiritual Warriors” movie and then I think we did an exercise or two. Just before lunch, Alisha Hayes went on stage to lead us through a wonderful session of Soul Dance. Now that I’m 57, I’ve noticed that the upper part of my body has more Soul Dance in it than the lower half. I’m thinking about having WD40 implants in my knees. If they ever come out with visual alarm clocks, I can see having Alisha dancing across the far wall telling me to get up because I’m a child of God, a wonder of Nature and the garbage needs to be taken out.

Lunch was great. We had an eleven dollar salad which came out to about three dollars a leaf. We sat at the pool of the Sheraton Hotel with some good friends from Arizona. I thanked them for letting us into the pool area and asked which room they were in. They said they were staying at another hotel but some nice man opened the gate for them. My kind of people.

After lunch, John Morton gave us an update on the fire that was licking at the borders of Windermere, and he mentioned that the fire crews had set up on our property because we had created an environment on the Ranch that was as fire safe or safer than anywhere else in the area. We are the best aren’t we? Light to our beloved ranch and the horses and people that have given so much to make it all work.

We did a couple more Spiritual Warrior exercises I think, and then J-R and John did a Q and A session for what seemed like a very short time because it never seems to be long enough when our Travelers are sharing with us in the physical.

We broke for dinner and my wife and I went to the products store and tried our best to remember the word budget. I think it has something to do with rental cars doesn’t it? They sure do a great job on the products store. They even move it from one location to another during the Conference! I keep telling them every year if they would just pay the rent…. Anyway, the store is amazing and the people that work it even more so.

The dinner and entertainment. What can I say? A steak so thick it could house a colony of Vegans, and of course that dessert was made of leftovers from Heaven. No one knows what’s in it but there were a lot of empty plates by the time the entertainment started.

There were, I think, 21 acts this year. Which one was the best? Who knows. There were a couple of high maintenance ladies doing a Texan two step (nothing to do with the food) wearing Styrofoam cowboy hats. Doesn’t it rain in Texas? There was Rap song that was actually good. There was a voluptuous lady that told a joke about falling off a building. There was amazing singing, a comedian that reminded us that there is only one Virgin Mary, and a guitar solo played by a young man, Joshua Hayes, that held us spellbound. Somewhere Van Halen is really envious.

And just like that it was over. I didn’t notice that it was past my bedtime until we were half way home.

Thank you all for being there in loving Spirit.
