Responses to the Updates from John Morton, Holly Engelman, and David Morton on their Ministry in Pakistan and Afghanistan with Wheels for Humanity and PIMA

One of our eNDH subscribers, Shar Kanan, has a web site called Virtual Lady’s Aid Society whose mission is to establish an online community service coalition, promoting computer literacy, camaraderie and good works. Shar posted excerpts from the sharings that John, Holly & David sent to the eNDH while doing their ministry in Pakistan and Afghanistan. She also linked to the NDH website so that her readers could participate in their service journey as it was unfolding. Here are some of their responses:

“Doing good work ought to be easy. But I know that it’s not. One has to fight through inertia, bureaucracy, disinterest, lack of funding, to name a few, while the complacent sit home and watch TV.

I salute anyone who can break through the barriers to actually do some good. I know they’re touching a lot of people’s lives in a positive way, easing terrible suffering with gifts that show love and compassion. Persevere! “
Love, Janet

“Please let John, Holly, David and all those involved, know I will pray for their mission to continue bringing relief and light to those in need. I pray God will continue to provide the things they need and the support to continue. What great joy they must feel. God bless all of you.”
Marlane

“What a wonderful story. Thanks so much for taking the time to encourage a good read. And also for reminding me of your site. It really is quite marvelous.

One thing about the Light — there is plenty to go around. I have just made a prayer ceremony for George’s father, who is in critical condition in a hospital in Phoenix. I don’t know that he has a very long life left in him, but I am praying that he is able to come out of this operation and spend some time at home, at least, in a presence that will allow him to feel love and to give some back. He’s know very little of this in his time and he must feel it before departing. His condition is critical and the next 24-48 hours will tell the tale. He is not conscious.

But the candle and incense are burning next to me, and the Light is infinite. Let it shine on Ben and John and Holly and David.”
Paulette

“You know I’m not much of a prayer person, but I’m supportive of those who try to make a difference in this world. Please tell Holly and David to be careful and that we are all thinking of them.”
Diane

“How could I NOT recognize Holly (what a dish)! Great to see such good work being done. Light!” Michael

“Kewl! I read your info about your friends and it made me remember of the times I traveled to Morocco where I saw a slave auction. My first real reality check. And in Trinidad (we have a friend there in Tunapuna) where nurses are treated like “angels of mercy.” Believe me Watts is like Boardwalk and Park Place. Those were the days when I had the spirit of old Flo Nightingale in me. After a while moving up in the ranks with big insurance companies (HMO’s, PPO’s and the like) one kinda forgets that nursing was first taught as an art. Insurance companies only pay for nursing as a science.”
Jack

“From Hohenwald, TN … Please tell John, David & Holly “thank you” for their inspirational mission. We wish them peace, joy, love and Light.”
Marie

“I am always interested in the postings you send pointing out interesting subjects and people. I will keep this short as I suspect you are sending a few of these.

Holly and Dave,
As a brief introduction I am Shar’s cousin, Craig, from Edmonton, Alberta. She directed me to some of your postings from Afghanistan. I found them most interesting. I was especially moved by your last posting detailing some of the work you had done distributing crutches etc. It is truly a noble work that you have taken upon yourselves. I am unsure which god answers prayer, but I know they do get heard and answered. I do wish you all the best and pray that you receive strength and endurance when needed, support as necessary, protection from the forces of evil and mistakes of mankind when required, and peace in your mind and souls always. Be well and fight on. Light. Peace,”
Craig
